Principal Engineer:

Trilogy Marketing, Inc. seeks a Principal Engineer in Southfield, Michigan to manage the technical design of new products from initial kickoff through production launch.

 

Utilize knowledge of design, development of electromechanical components and systems, working knowledge of test engineering, manufacturing operations, and engineering process and procedures. Apply knowledge of mechanical design as it applies to electrical mechanical and electro optical components, printed circuit board layout, environmental and mechanical testing, thermal and structural analysis.  Develop technical documents to assist customers with interfacing to Sharp products. Conduct and lead face-to-face meetings between customers (OEM and Tier1) that leads to mechanical design solutions. Directs the establishment of regular engineering meetings with major customers to elicit current product update needs and to ensure proper future design planning. Prepare GD&T drawings per customer requirements and perform tolerance stack up analysis. Develop and document design methodology and procedures. Utilize the following: UG NX12 Software, GD&T, PLM tools, Catia V6, ANSYS, DFMEA, and Tolerance Stack-Up.

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a foreign equivalent. Qualified applicants must have five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, or a substantially similar position. Qualified experience must include five (5) years of experience utilizing UG NX12 Software, GD&T, PLM tools, Catia V6, ANSYS, DFMEA, and Tolerance Stack-Up; and two (2) years’ experience in the following: 1) Coordinating and communicating with customers and developing technical documents to assist customers, 2) Developing design concepts and taking designs from concept to production; 3) Preparing GD&T drawings per customer requirements and performing tolerance stack up analysis, 4) and Developing and documenting design methodology and procedures, and 5) Developing CAD design. Teleworking is permitted 2 days per week.
